Editing Custom Property Sets¶
Modify existing Custom Property Sets to add, remove, or reorganize fields.
Who Can Edit Custom Property Sets?¶

Adding New Fields¶
- Click Control Panel
- Click Custom Properties
- Select the custom property set to edit
- Click Fields in the toolbar
- A new field prompt appears automatically
- Enter the field information
- Click Add
Required Fields
New fields added to an existing property set cannot be marked as "Required" since existing documents won't have values for them.
Deleting Fields¶
- Click Control Panel
- Click Custom Properties
- Select the custom property set to edit
- Click Fields in the toolbar
- The Custom Property Fields window appears
- Click the Delete button on the row you want to remove
Data Loss Warning
Field deletion is permanent and irreversible. All data values for deleted fields will be permanently lost.
Reordering Fields¶
Change the order fields are displayed and prompted:
- Click Control Panel
- Click Custom Properties
- Select the custom property set to edit
- Click Fields in the toolbar
- Use the up/down arrows in the far-right column to reorder fields
Changing Caption¶
- Click Control Panel
- Click Custom Properties
- Select the custom property set to edit
- Click Custom Property Settings in the toolbar
- Edit the Caption field
- Save changes
