Regular Documents¶
Regular documents are typical files created by desktop applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF, and more. These are uploaded to infoRouter where they can be managed, shared, and versioned.
Template Documents¶
Template documents are created directly inside infoRouter using the Templates feature. These documents:
- Are always HTML format
- Can be rendered with other templates
- Provide powerful form-based document creation
Document Shortcuts¶
Shortcuts provide access to documents for users who cannot navigate to the original location. They can be created in any folder and point to any document in infoRouter.
URL Documents¶
URLs are treated as documents and can be created in any folder. They point to external or internal websites or pages.
Email Registration¶
You can register emails in infoRouter through two methods:
| Method | Format | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Web Interface | EML files only | Upload like any other document |
| MS Office Add-in | MSG and EML | Register directly from Outlook |
Email Processing
EML files are automatically parsed to extract email sections (sender, recipients, subject, body, attachments) and presented in the infoRouter email format.
Email Limitations
Email documents cannot be edited or checked out. They are read-only but can be copied, moved, deleted, and searched like other documents.
